Interview: Unbeaten welterweight Shawn Porter

April 18th, 2011

Just 23 years old, unbeaten, world-ranked welterweight Shawn Porter already is a familiar face to boxing fans, having fought half of his 18 professional fights on either ESPN or ShoBox. Porter (18-0, 13 KOs) also has jacked up his profile and his skill level as a favorite sparring partner of Manny Pacquiao in the champ's three most-recent training camps. A two-time national champ and Golden Gloves world champion, "Showtime" Shawn was one of the best amateur fighters of his era at 165 pounds. Now, as a pro, he's emerging as a force at 147. Enjoy our in-depth interview with a compelling personality and, quite possibly, a future superstar in the sport, from our April 17, 2011 edition of The Ringside Boxing Show.
