Mike Reed hated boxing after his first day in the gym, and lost the first five fights of hs amateur career. Think of him as a slow starter.

The Maryland native and D.C. adoptee became on of the top amateurs of his class, winning four national championships and reaching the semifinals of the 2012 Olympic Trials.

"Yes Indeed" Reed (9-0, 6 KOs)  joined us just six days before his next fight -- a six-rounder Saturday night at Bally's Atlantic City -- to discuss his feats as a 105-pound tight end, how he suffers without sweets, how he and his trainer/manager father make it all work, and his ultimate dream ... to become a certified accountant. Well, that, and winning a world boxing crown somewhere between 135 and 147 pounds.

He's just 21, but he interviews like a veteran. Don't miss this lively conversation with one of the sport's young meteorites.
