He had more than 300 amateur fights, many of which took place in the barrooms of Alaska during "Tough Man" contests where Greg Haugen often was matched against men twice his size like, no kidding, "The Yukon Crusher."

Using mostly heart and aggression, Haugen went on to become a three-time world champion as a pro, when he ranked among the most-popular fighters of his day. His memoirs from a colorful career aren't to be missed. Check out this fun and phenominal interview from the June 20, 2010 edition of The Ringside Boxing Show.

Before Greg Haugen became a three-time world champion at lightweight and junior welterweight, he fought in Toughman competitions in the saloons of Alaska, where the winner's share was $50.

As a pro, Haugen fought Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Hector "Macho" Camacho, Vinny Pazienza, Tony "The Tiger" Lopez and Jimmy Paul, to mention only a few.

Enjoy one of the most-colorful interviews we've ever done on The Ringside Boxing Show with one of the true legends of the 1990s.
