Two of the iconic figures in West Coast boxing history, legendary promoter/matchmaker Don Chargin and celebrated publicist Bill Caplan, teamed up on the November 26, 2012 edition of The Ringside Boxing Show to give us a lively and humorous reminiscence of LA's famed Olympic Auditorium, spinning colorful stories about Bobby Chacon, Mando Ramos vs. Sugar Ramos, the 1964 Ebihara-Torres riot, the funeral of the original "Golden Boy," Art Aragon, and much more. We simply didn't have enough time to hear a lifetime of colorful stories from these two boxing icons.

In more than 40 years as a boxing publicist, Bill Caplan has worked for Joe Louis, Don King, Bob Arum, and currently is with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
Caplan was at the hub of California's amazing boxing scene in the glory years of Carlos Palomino, Bobby Chacon, Mando Ramos, Tony "The Tiger" Lopez, the Quarry brothers.
The stories he shared with us during his second appearance on The Ringside Boxing Show were rich, colorful and true. Take an amazing walk through California's boxing history with a man who has seen it all.

Bill Caplan's first gig in boxing publicity was for an ex-champ-turned-promoter named Joe Louis. He was marooned for two months in Zaire with George Foreman prior to the Ali fight. He once stretched out in the parking lot of a Korean restaurant to prevent Lupe Pinto's station wagon from leaving a press conference. The man of a million stories was our guest on The Ringside Boxing Show on Oct. 9, 2011, for a remarkable half-hour interview. Enjoy!
